Thinking back to the video we watched on Monday I can't get my mind around the concept that Asimov pretty much figured out the future before anything was even there to give him a clue about what was to really happen. The whole time watching his interview I had to keep reminding myself that the video was not in present time, but the things he was saying was so real to what is happening today. His whole thought process on the individual computers for students and people in general society was so fascinating to me. I was especially freaked out when he was talking about how at one point in time people would be able to go on the internet and it would be as if it was an unlimited library at one's access. Right away this brought me to Google. Nowadays with the click of a mouse we can find nearly anything and everything that we would ever need to know.
I found this article online http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2011/01/28/isaac-asimov-creativity-education-science/ that talks about what I just mentioned. The fact that this man predicted the boom of the internet in our society. The power of the internet today is so great that I don't think people truly understand. I can find a restaurant, an outfit, and an explanation to a math problem all in one place without too much effort. It will be interesting to see how the internet continues to affect society and education, but right now I truly believe that it has become a source of information that could never be replaced.
