I had no idea what charter schools were before this class, and it's been interesting to talk about them and seeing how successful this idea is. From videos we've watched in class, it seems to me that they've been quite successful where they've been sanctioned. However, I've been wondering if it really gives students an edge when comparing to regular public school education. I believe that in some way it has to, otherwise the idea of charter schools wouldn't exist if they weren't successful. I found this article online and it's saying that there is no evidence that shows that charter schools provide better education than regular public schools: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2012/jan/29/con-statistics-show-no-significant-advantage-over/
