Bullying stats
Our discussion in class this week made me look up some stats about bullying on the internet. I found this article with a list of 11 stats related to school bullying. http://www.dosomething.org/tipsandtools/11-facts-about-school-bullying has multiple different interesting facts, but something I noticed was that a lot of them had to do with the lack of attention given to bullying. Kids are being bullied everyday and some teachers don't see it as a problem, don't want to deal with it, or simply don't know what to do. I think this is a terrible statistic, but has a lot of truth to it as well. I have been in school long enough to recognize that teachers don't always step in and stop something that every one knows is wrong. I have even been a witness to some teachers taking part in the bullying themselves. This is very upsetting and I can only think about how I will address issues like bullying in my classroom in the future.

It is really upsetting that more attention isn't given to bullying. Yes, it is a hard topic and not easy to solve. How would you attempt to deal with bulling in your classroom?
