Our Ideal School

If we were given 1 million dollars to create our ideal school these are the things that we thought should be included:

~ The school days should be split in half. The morning should have more structured lesson plans to teach students. Followed by afternoons where the students could have free time that requires the students to choose one educational topic and allow themselves to learn in the way that they feel best (hands-on, reading, videos, etc. )

~ Minimum amount of standardized testing to allow students to learn what they feel is necessary accompanied by an educator as a guide.

~Emphasis on a classroom "job" to contribute to the classroom system and teaches teamwork and cohesiveness in a group.

~ Some sort of physical activity to allow a break in education along with learning other than in a classroom.

~ Incorporate multiple types on intelligences in every lesson to allow greatest understanding by all students.

~ Hiring each year for educators so that the educators are ones that want to be there and appreciate these types of lesson plans. For educators who have been there and have a bad year allow for a set amount of "probation time" to improve.

~ Parent-teacher communication at least weekly for younger students so that students feel as if they have a strong support system.
