This article I found is an example of a cheating scandal that occured earlier this year in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/04/13/atlanta-school-cheatring-race/2079327/
The amount of cheating in the nation is rapidly growing, not only in students but in school officials as you can learn from the article. Like stated in class, is the reason many people are cheating on tests is because they are just worried about the overall outcome of the test. We found out in class that a majority of us just study the items that are on the test to just get the grade, not the information. In reality it shouldn't be like this. What is it that we need to do in order to switch it back to for the information? Should the emphasis on test that has swept the nation be knocked back down to a lower level? As a person that has cheated in high school, I feel as every student has it go through their head. The older I had gotten in high school, more the urge came to cheat. The ability has became so easy with all of the technology today. I feel school need to try to change the view of testing in schools. Make the students realize the importance of the information they need to learn and not as much on the overall grade they get for learning it. Cheating is something that everyone has done, and it is something that as a future teacher I will have to worry about.
