Motivation

In class,  have talked a lot about assessment and the goal of education. We have said that assessment of some kind is necessary so that knowledge can be gauged, but that testing too much is putting pressure on students and they are only they learning for the test. Also, we have talked about what ur goals as teachers are: to impart the most possible knowledge on our students or to give them a thirst for knowledge.

This article talks about different systems of grade that a high school is thinking about imposing. The school is thinking about giving a grade about school work and from test, and the other grade based on effort. The school was also talking about raising the minimum grade from a 0 to a 50. It is hard to say what systems of grading will improve a child's wanting to learn, and not just learning for the test. Grading systems are an interesting topic, as a future teacher I will have to include the different motivators for children's learning.

  1. I like it. Assessment is inherently necessary for proper teaching. I'm worried that effort ratings won't be objective
